Lunokhod watch by Konstantin Chaykin

Joint project with Konstantin Chaykin brand in 2011, and was presented in Basel World 2011.

This project has become important for watchmaking because it has become a bold step in using classical technologies with bold ideas and embodiments in form. Lunokhod, the world's first planetary rover, successfully operated on the surface of another celestial body — the Moon from November 17, 1970 to September 14, 1971. Belongs to the series of Soviet remote-controlled self-propelled vehicles "Lunokhod" for lunar exploration (project E-8); worked for eleven lunar days (10.5 Earth months), traveled 10,540 m.

The body shapes were not copied exactly like Lunokhod 1, as other brands do, but reinterpreted and transferred in a form that is comfortable for the hand and beautiful from the aesthetics point of view. A special detail of this model is the moon, which always looks at us from one side. For all other models with the moon indication, the moon always rotates and thus the phase of the moon is demonstrated. In this watch, part of the sphere shows the shadow on the moon from the sun.

The second important element is the 24-hour time display, where a hour hand in the form of the sun is responsible for AM, and an arrow in the form of a miniature moon is responsible for PM. On the back cover you can see the dark side of the moon.
